2. Notarial and Documentary Services (NaDS)
a. We provide limited NaDS by appointment. In order to modernise the delivery of our services and help free up resources so that we can focus on providing assistance to customers who need our help most, not all services on the Consular Fee Table are available at British Consular offices. Our Consular Staff will be able to tell you which services they are able to offer or signpost you to alternative service providers.
b. With effect from 1 April 2014 NaDS that can be performed by an alternative provider will no longer be offered by the British Consular offices in Turkey. All NaDS which will continue to be offered will be centralised at the Consular Section of the British Consulate-General in Istanbul. The British Embassy, Consulate, Vice Consulate and Honorary Consulates in other areas of Turkey will stop issuing Notarial and Documentary Services. You will no longer be able to make an appointment for these services at posts other than Istanbul.
c. You may want to call upon the British Chamber of Commerce Turkey (BCCT) to verify whether the chamber can assist and provide the service you may require.

3. DWP/Life Certificates. It is no longer necessary to visit the British Consulates for witness of a Life Certificate on behalf of the Department for Work & Pensions. Please check https://www.gov.uk/countersigning-passport-applications for a list of recognised professionals who can witness Life Certificates. British Consulates do not now provide this service.

4. Marriage Deposit:
From 1 January 2014 the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has discontinued its service of depositing foreign marriage and civil partnership certificates with the General Register Offices in the UK.

British nationals overseas will need to make their own arrangements for the safekeeping of these certificates, as they do for other important documents. Further information. Please visit our website for more information on the services we provide.
